As promised, a very positive end of month summary from BCUK HQ. What an extremely busy 4 weeks it has been at Building Careers UK, as always!

It’s an important part of the year for us as we’re gearing up for our end of financial year. We are currently in the middle of our annual career reviews where we take an in-depth look at every team member’s successes and improvements over the last year, and develop learning journeys for a record breaking 2016-2017. This is a great opportunity to discuss the finer details of where each consultant is now, and where they want to be this time next year. For me, it’s also fantastic to look back at the previous year and see how much my BCUK team have grown; promotions, learning curves, babies, weddings, how much our brand is growing, the talent approaching us… so much to be proud of and we’re growing by the day!

As we head into the new financial year, BCUK is planning ahead, structuring the business to create opportunities internally and externally. We have recently appointed Jo Coppock as office manager in our Manchester office, who comes with a wealth of experience in the construction and recruitment industry and it’s a pleasure to be able to work alongside her building an even stronger team in Manchester. Welcome on board Jo!

This week alone has been very busy, with Housing Excellence Awards in Manchester on Wednesday 11th May. We had a fantastic evening and lots of laughs dancing the night away with our friends and clients at lovely table 7. We were also thrilled to sponsor Social Landlord of the Year (Small) again this year, and big congratulations to Pine Court HA who won, as well to all nominees up for awards this year as it highlights great achievements across the industry. Already looking forward to next year!

Friday the 13th is a lucky day for us here as we celebrate the successes of the year and gear up for new business by having a themed Summer Blitz Day in all the offices in the North West region. Great efforts from all our teams; dressing to impress in sunglasses and shorts, inflatable palm trees and games of limbo! I’m sure there will be a few pina coladas to finish off the day as well to toast the year ahead. Massively proud of our BCUK team!

For our official end of year we’re planned something a little bit different, with our team day out at Go Ape and awards ceremony for individual and team achievements in the business. Stay tuned for my next blog to find out what happens when BCUK is let loose...
