Job Description

Working with a leading building contractor with major projects across the UK, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Aftercare/Defects Manager to focus on managing any defects, post-build.

My client are one of the best respected contractors in the UK and following a period of stability throughout the recession are now seeing a large increase in work, in city centres throughout the UK. Projects in the coming years within the region will be high-rise, multibed accommodation and commercial developments.

This role will be based from the Head office in Liverpool but with frequent travel required, to sites throughout the UK.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working on a wide range of projects both in value and complexity as well as having experience of dealing with post completion defects. You will have experience in maintaining and developing client relationships and key skills in project planning and time management and effective communication to manage client, clients Facilities Managers, sub-contractors and site based personnel.

Reporting to the Contracts Manager you will;

* Liaising with the Construction Management team regarding defects - post construction
* Undertaking relevant defects related work as required and has been approved to be carried out within the defects period
* Obtaining quotes for completion of any required sub-contract related work, prior to approval as required
* Final inspection of works completed by sub-contractors as required
* Work closely with the senior Construction and central Facilities Management team to report on the defects and make suggestions for changes

The ideal candidate will likely be from a joinery background and will certainly have operated in a Senior Finishing or Defects Manager role in a main contractor and working on major projects. You will understand H&S and building regs and display a hands-on approach.

You will carry the necessary formal and site qualifications.
You will be able to commit to extensive travel which will include overnight stays.
