Job Description

Our client is a well-respected Regional Housing Contractor established for over 30 yrs.

They are privately owned, multi award winning construction and integrated support services business.

They currently have a requirement for an Assistant Bid Writer.

Purpose of role:

Preparation of PQQ and tender submissions in conjunction with operational and technical personnel to support the conversion of work winning opportunities into successful and profitable contracts.

Key Accountabilities:

* Co-Ordinate the production of pre-qualification questionnaires, quality documents and tenders, ensuring that all requirements are met to programme.
* Work closely with the Business Development and Estimating Team as required to plan and produce winning bids.
* Liaise with the wider team and bid administration support to produce effective submissions.
* Contribute to researching and writing responses and oversee the production of graphics, design layouts etc.
* Use and manage the company's information library effectively.
* Rewrite answers received from other personnel where necessary.
* Identify and tailor staff CVs to meet specific project requirements.
* Attend meetings where team's role will be outlined.
* Secondary research (including websites/past bids/trade magazines).
* Liaising with clients where required and organising peer review meetings.
* Ensuring high-quality bids are submitted every time and ensuring they are in line with required company standards.
* Liaising effectively with the wider team.

* Any other task as reasonably deemed necessary.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

* Ideally educated to degree level in a relevant subject
* Experience in a bid writing role, preferably within the construction sector
* Ability to build productive stakeholder relationships
* Ability to communicate well with individuals at all levels
* Proven ability to manage multiple projects and produce accurate tender submissions in a timely manner
* Able to work as part of a team as well as autonomously
* Strong written communication skills
* Strong analytical skills

* Thorough, with strong attention to detail



* Proficient in MS Office packages, experience using bid writing software is desirable
