Job Description

Assistant Buyer – Lancashire

I am currently working with a medium sized regional contractor that is looking to recruit an Assistant Buyer. This is a permanent position due to increased contracts and workload. This contractor specialise in both new build and social housing developments in the Lancashire and Manchester region.

They are looking to recruit an Assistant Buyer to report into the Procurement Manager, someone who is professional, efficient and effective plant and material scheduling / purchasing function.

You will be expected to carry out the following duties:

•Procurement of plant and materials and placing orders ensuring delivery to site

•Actively contribute to enhancing company profits

•Attend and participate in Design Team Meetings and Internal Review Meetings to drive towards the most commercially advantageous solution

•Produce cost / value reconciliation of purchase orders

•Provide support to Accounts team to ensure prompt resolution of invoice queries / issues

•Contribute to the development of improved purchasing processes and procedures

•Participate and contribute to regular purchasing meetings and forums to communicate developments, share good practice and upskill our people

•Build excellent supplier relations
