Job Description

The business and the Assistant Quantity Surveyor role:

You'll join the growing commercial team in a growing North Wales based business, who have recently secured exciting new build projects across the A55, Chester and into Merseyside - meaning they have sprung into the spotlight and are fast becoming a high-profile, major force in new build social housing.

You'll support the Senior Quantity Surveyors and the board of directors in managing subcontractors, contract and payment variations and will take the lead from the word go in managing specific packages and negotiations, helping to drive value. You'll be in charge of CVRs, board progress reports and spend/cash flow forecasting reports, as well as using your relationship building skills and expertise to credibly work alongside internal and external stakeholders to ensure commercial proceedings are smooth throughout the project life cycles.

Based either in Conway, Flint or Liverpool, you'll initially work on either a small cluster of new build schemes, consisting of around 20-40 houses, or will be working closely with one Senior Quantity Surveyor on one larger, new build apartment block. Either way, the exposure to this new build work will provide you with a fantastic springboard to quickly move your career onto being a Project level QS. Furthermore, the commercial team across this business is high functioning and passionate about the development of its teams.

Your skills and experience required:

You will be suitably qualified for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor Position (HND in construction or a similar, or superseding qualification including a degree in Quantity Surveying, for example) and have a minimum of 12 months' experience as an Assistant QS in new build or extensive refurbishment environments. Experience working for a main contractor would be ideal, however experience with specialist contractors or subcontractors in new build environments will also be considered.

Salary, Remuneration & other benefits on offer:

An excellent package is on offer here, including a salary of £25,000 - £30,000 (depending on experience and your current situation) and there's also a car allowance added on top, along with a competitive pension scheme and holiday allowance.

You'll also be taking a step towards a long, prosperous career as a commercial construction professional with an exceptional social housing contractor that is going from strength to strength in the North West.

Please get in touch today with George Lucking, Commercial Specialist on 0151 230 1690 / 07860 270 738 for more details on opportunities available, or apply direct below with your CV.
