Assistant Quantity Surveyor

The projects are currently mainly located in the North West; work covered includes infrastructure, refurbishment, major projects and special works.

Main purpose of the roles

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the roles of Assistanrt Quantity Surveyor to work for a successful national developer within a construction business. We are a leading National developer who operates on a regional basis delivering high quality projects including the conversion of historic buildings. As either if the roles indicated you will provide commercial expertise to aid with the delivery of the contracted work. You will be responsible to report to the Commercial Manager for the project. Main responsibilities

 Co-ordination and management of the procurement for schemes both pre contract and post contract.  Liaison with the client representatives in agreeing project cost plans.  Ensure the project and programme contract, cost, quality and time targets are met  Prepare monthly cash flow projections.  Forming and agreeing w/c contract documents  Prepare Monthly project valuations in conjunction with the project Commercial Manager  Support the Commercial Manger, Maintain and coordinate all commercial reports required for the successful commercial management of the contract  Preparation of the forecasting and reporting of costs against value to ensure that it is in line with the contract cost plan.  Preparation of tenders for works Contractor Packages  Forming and agreeing w/c contract documents  Preparation of sub -contractors payments are timely, correct and are dealt with fairly and in accordance with subcontract terms, and issue of compliant payment notices  Ensures that all subcontractor commercial issues are resolved fairly and deferring to the commercial manager where appropriate  Monitor tendering and expenditure against the project cost plan  Identifying, raising and pricing of variation in line with the change control process including identification, measurement claims and rogue rates.  Build a close relationship with Senior Construction Manager and his team to assist with the delivery of the project.  Provide key information across the contract team  Liaise with site construction team and the office manager to review spending and ensuring best practice is used office purchasing.
