Our client - Your New Business:

One of the region's most well-known social housing contractors are offering an exceptional opportunity to join the business at this exciting time of expansion, working on a variety of refurbishment and maintenance projects, including two newly secured long term contracts.

As the Assistant Quantity Surveyor based in Manchester, you will support the Quantity Surveying team, specifically with re-measurement of sites and managing a selection of subcontractors.

This is an excellent opportunity for newly qualified Assistant Quantity Surveyor, or someone with up to 2 years' experience. It's also a perfect career opportunity to work with established and highly competent Quantity Surveyors who will support your development as an assistant QS and into a Quantity Surveyor.

Your duties and responsibilities as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor:

* Build and maintain a strong working relationships internally and externally, and ensure reports (including board reports, CVRs and schedules) to the client and the Directors are accurate and timely
* Support in the management of subcontractor packages (including ground-workers, cladders and roofers, for example), helping to maintain performance against programmes/schedules
* Feed appropriate subcontractor information into the Quantity Surveying team and the client as appropriate, as well as support the business in the negotiation of potential and live variations to contracts and values
* Support in the forecasting of predicted spends and cash flows, and prepare CVRs, cost reports and final accounts information as appropriate
* Support in the re-measuring of certain sites in maintenance and refurbishment works
* Work with other staff across the business and across subcontractors to help keep projects on time and to cost

Your skills and experience required:

You will be suitably qualified for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor Position (HND in construction or a similar, or superseding qualification including a degree in Quantity Surveying, for example). Experience in refurbishment or maintenance work will be an advantage, but isn't essential… most importantly you will show an eye for detail, an ability to handle negotiations and exhibit a driving attitude. You'll also be a relationship-builder, able to successfully manage different personalities across site, offices, clients and subcontractors.

Salary, Remuneration & other benefits on offer:

An excellent package is on offer here, including a salary of £23,000 - £25,000 plus a car allowance, early Friday finishes and an excellent benefits package.
