Job Description

We are exclusively working with one of the most respected privately owned commercial contractors in the region. Owning to a significant period of growth they are increasing their staff force across the business, as they go through are exciting time of increasing turnover. At this time they have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Contracts Manager to join their established and experienced senior management team, to oversee multiple projects across the North West, Yorkshire and Midlands regions.

The work they undertake spans a number of disciplines and sectors. They have long standing relationships and framework agreements for public work across the region. This ensues a solid backbone of work over a number of years at a time. This work is significantly added to with private work across sectors including housing, industrial, commercial, healthcare, education and leisure. Projects typically are of values from 5m to 15m with larger projects also in their portfolio. Many projects are for repeat clients with the relationship they hold with such being of significant importance, it is essential that their staff believe in and follow such values.

As an experienced Contracts Manager you will have been in post for a minimum of 5 years and ideally more. You will be from main-contractor background with experience of leading and delivering multiple projects of significant value (matching the figures above) across a variety of sectors. You will be based within a realistic distance of Manchester as a central base, with head office being your base to then cover multiple projects over locations spanning the North West region in the main. However, you will also be expected to cover projects across Yorkshire and The Midlands. An ability, desire and motivation to do so will be key.

As a Contracts Manager you will be required to work at both pre-construction/bid stage and construction phase; you will be working closely with clients to develop and nurture relationships with a view to securing future business. You will manage this over the course of the project whilst overseeing the construction stage, supporting your site team.

As a contractor who believe in promotion from within on the main, you will be ideally from a Site Management background and have a demonstrable understanding for the day to day running of individual projects, in your previous experience.
