Contracts manager



This client is a well-established and highly reputable social housing maintenance and refurbishment contractor based in Merseyside with operations across the North West. Due to significant growth in portfolio and external client contracts, they are seeking to appoint a Contracts Manager to manage their planned works across the Merseyside region.

The role will be on a temporary basis, allowing you to work closely with your future colleagues to support their continued success in delivering high standard planned and cyclical programmes to their own housing stock as well as refurbishment to other public sector buildings. Schemes will include kitchen and bathroom programmes, re-roofing, external and structural work, groundwork and tenant garden rejuvenation.

As the Contracts Manager, your duties will include:

* Co-ordinating team managers and their labour teams (including semi-skilled and skilled trades such as joiners, plumbers etc.) and delivering quick turnaround work streams across the region

* Work regionally to visit your site portfolio ensure safe operations on site in conjunction with the Health & Safety policy

* Liaise with clients (including the over-arching housing group as well as external clients), end users and subcontractors as appropriate
* Manage and maintain budget integrity and work with site / team managers, schedulers and commercial teams to keep work running on time and to budget.

Your skills and experience required:

You will excel in a planned works environment and ideally, you'll either have experience as a Contracts Manager presiding over regional teams in social housing environments. Site Managers with significant demonstrable experience of managing more than one programme (including co-ordinating other supervisors or manager-level colleagues) will also be considered.

With strong organisational skills and excellent interpersonal skills, you'll have an eye for detail and an ambition to drive high standards and maximising profit. You will also be passionate about supporting your team in their own development.

SMSTS or CSCS Manager's card will be required, and a First Aid certificate would be ideal.

Salary, Remuneration & other benefits on offer:

Initially, a temporary rate of £40-45k salary will be on offer depending on experience
