Job Description

Job Title: Contracts Manager (Leading social housing contractor)

Location: Merseyside

A leading social housing business are currently in the market for an experienced contracts manager to look after numerous refurbishment sites across the Merseyside area.

My client is a leading refurbishment, planned and reactive maintenance contractor who are well established, reputable and a driving force in the social housing market in the North West. Expansion in the team has led to the requirement for a contracts manager with previous experience working on social housing refurbishment and maintenance contracts (including frameworks where appropriate).

You will be enthusiastic, receptive and open to new ideas. You will be confident in your ability as a contracts manager with a proven track record of delivering sites through effective management of your teams, your contracts and your clients.

You will be joining a tight knit team who get on well during work hours but also enjoy socialising outside of work.
The business is committed to developing their talented team and are prepared to offer package that is higher than the market rate to secure the best candidate. Therefore they are offering up to £50,000 plus car allowance and package for the successful candidate.

My client is looking for an experienced, capable and confident candidate with a current SMSTS and First Aid Certificate, with experience either as a senior site manager, or ideally as contracts manager looking after a number of refurbishment sites.

Your skills knowledge and experience required include but not limited to:

Strong communication skills

Ability to motivate and support staff, including other managers

Ability to liaise with internal and external personnel - specifically site teams, clients and subcontractor personnel

Meeting deadlines

Enthusiastic and attentive, with a commitment to development

Qualifications and training - essential

CSCS Card at Site Manager Level as a minimum

Valid SMSTS certificate

Valid First Aid at Work certificate


Experience in a regional site management, or extensive knowledge of managing sites will be required. You'll have demonstrable experience of managing site and management teams, and manging a fast flow of workload across a region - either in a refurbishment or planned/reactive maintenance environment. Social Housing experience would be particularly desirable.

Up to date knowledge of health and safety obligations and building legislation will be highly advantageous.
