Job DescriptionOur client is one of the UK's leading construction and development companies with a history of delivering large scale projects including Student Accommodation, Hotels and PRS schemes with values ranging from £20-£100m. They currently have a requirement for an Design Manager who has experience of high rise, mixed use developments to join their team.
About the role - Design Manager
Duties and responsibilities will include:
* Managing the design process from inception to completion of the works
* Ensuring that the design meets the employer's criteria
* Ensuring the design is coordinated and delivered to meet the time and budgetary constraints of the design and the construction process
* Giving due regard to cost in use and life cycle costing and buildability issues
Based from the Cardiff Offices, with travel to site when required, you'll be involved with reviewing design proposals from internal and external consultants ensuring the most competitive and effective solution is arrived at, while supporting the Procurement Department in the evaluation of alternative design solutions offered by subcontractors. Reviewing payments with the commercial team to ensure that payments to consultants are done correctly reflect the work undertaken or reports or design information has been produced in line with the payment schedules would also be a part of the Design Managers remit.
