Job Description

The organisation is a Top Building Services Design and Consultancy practice providing Mechanical, Electrical, Public Health and Vertical Transportation advice to Construction, Property professionals and Facilities across all sectors of the Built Environment

The company places a high value on the academic understanding of the principles of building physics and uses this knowledge to provide simple, effective and efficient Building Services solutions in response to the complex nature of modern construction.

My client is currently looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their team in Manchester.

Your duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

* Preparation of documentation (drawings, designs, specifications), tailored to required stage of project completion, covering all aspects of electrical services
* Carrying out detailed surveys of electrical services and equipment to establish the extent of the existing installation and gain enough information to complete design and to report findings to others as required
* Assisting in pricing work elements
* Advising on all aspects of energy consumption and utilisation, identify delegate schemes, recommendations to improve energy performance
* Monitoring of the design and project management of commissions within agreed programmes
* Ensure in the compliance with construction (design and management) regulations for engineering aspects of delegated projects

Candidate Specification:

* Relevant Qualifications such as ONC/HNC/Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services
* Previous experience within a consultancy environment
* Min of 2-3 year experience
* Up to date knowledge of current building regulations and relevant legislation applicable in building\infrastructure design environments
* Experience using Hevacomp (or equivalent), Dialux, Amtech Power, AutoCAD and IES experience is beneficial however not essential
* Revit knowledge and experience will be beneficial
* Must have initiative, self-motivation and the confidence to make decisions
* Good verbal communication skills
* A degree in electrical engineering
* Experience preferably within a pharmaceutical, industrial or nuclear environment within electrical design at LV, MV and up to HV with associated electrical control and protection.
* Must be chartered or be achieving status within the next 6 months.


£28,000-£33,000 plus car allowance, health and pension.
