Our client is a growing organisation specialising in drainage, groundworks and foundations on large scale housing and social housing developments across the North West. Their recent growth, increasing their turnover from £10m to £40m in the last two years, has been due predominantly to the forging of exceptional working partnerships with the UK's top housing development clients. Your new role - Health & Safety Manager

As the Health & Safety Manager, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in an exciting and growing organisation. Whilst their current Health & Safety management system, policies and procedures are adequate, there is the opportunity to review and improve these, implementing changes to develop a strong Health & Safety culture. With the business growing, there is a real need for a site presence; so you'll be given the flexibility to work across the multitude of sites in the Liverpool, Wirral and Manchester areas.

Conducting site inspections and audits will go without saying, but the real challenge - and one to relish for an ambitious Health & Safety professional - is to take the Health & Safety standards to the next level. You'll be influencing directors right through to challenging groundworkers on sites that vary in complexity and size, but represent work that is famous amongst the business' clients for its safe, timely completion.

Succeed in the role and there will be the opportunity to build a Health & Safety team around you, as well as clear career progression pathways in place. You'll also gain exposure to working with the UK's largest housing and property developers and some high profile housing developments across the North West region.

The Experience Required

Ideally at or working towards Grad IOSH level (with the appropriate qualification, for example the NEBOSH Diploma), you will be able to demonstrate experience of reviewing and maintaining Health & Safety management systems in a construction environment (ideally with knowledge of groundworks or similar operations). It will be crucial to use your strong relationship building and influencing skills to gain buy in from directors, site managers, and groundworkers and other operational staff, encouraging a positive attitude towards Health & Safety compliance - building a strong, positive Health & Safety culture.

Salary and Remuneration

Our client is willing to offer an extremely competitive salary to secure the right individual for this role. You can expect a salary of up to £50,000 plus a company car and a competitive benefits package.
