Job Description

We are currently looking for a O&M Assistant in the Colchester area to work on a permenant full time basis. The job will be on a monday - Friday basis with 40 hours a week. Candidates duties will be to undertake non-technical assigned operations and maintenance activities within and around each site as instructed. Undertake standby and call out duties as part of a rota based system and have flexibility to work weekends and bank holidays.



Health & Safety / Welfare / Waste Management



* Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation at all times
* Recognize issues
* Assess risks
* Put corrective measures in place
* Report any incidents including near misses
* Review any findings with management
* Help to ensure all working environments are safe and secure

Operations and Maintenance



* Assist with the general upkeep and maintenance of existing and new solar projects
* Adhere to maintenance procedures

* Problem solving and reporting plus review of any findings with management



* Assist in the implementation of goals and objectives
* Recommend improvements and modifications
* Investigate complaints and recommend corrective action as necessary to resolve complaints.
* Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, contractors, land owners and the public using principles of good customer service.
* Document work undertaken / daily activities and provide a daily activity report

Site Support



* Assist in the installation of solar projects to include ground mounted, roof mounted and tracker system.
* Be an active member of a team that builds Solar systems from start to finish excluding any AC electrical works.
* Assist the site management team in liaising with sub-contractors



General



* Liaise with work colleagues as required.
* Professionally represent the client when communicating with clients.
* Participate in internal / external meetings as requested.
* Identify and meet personal job-related training and development as required.
* Undertake telephone liaison with relevant contacts.
* Provide assistance in terms of general and specific business support as required.





Person Specification





Location:

* Easily commutable to Colchester.



Qualifications:

* UK driving license
* Experience:
*
* Previous construction / maintenance / handyman work
* Solar experience / knowledge would be an advantage
* Used to working outside
