Job Description

We are currently looking for an O&M technician in the Colchester area to start work ASAP on a permanent full time basis. The hours will be Monday - Friday on a 40 hour week basis. The candidate's main duties will be to undertake assigned operations and maintenance activities at each site and to perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.



Key Responsibilities & Duties



Technical



* Adhere to a planned maintenance schedule; liaising closely with subcontractors



* Respond in a timely manner to breakdowns
* Diagnose faults
* Repair equipment
* Inspect work in progress and upon completion
* Assist contractors in resolving difficult work problems
* Provide on the job training to colleagues and contract staff
* Instruct contractors in work techniques, use of equipment and safety precautions / requirements as required.
* Inspect work for satisfactory performance.





Stock Control



* Review suitable stocks of supplies and equipment and request specialist components, fixtures or fittings as required
* Advise manager on required stock levels / costs
* Compliance / Processes and Procedures

* Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation at all times
* Adhere to maintenance procedures
* Assist in the implementation of goals and objectives
* Recommend improvements and modifications
* Investigate complaints and recommend corrective action as necessary to resolve complaints.
* Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, contractors, land owners and the public using principles of good customer service.
* Document work undertaken / daily activities and provide a daily activity report

* Liaise with work colleagues as required.
* Professionally represent the client when communicating with clients.
* Participate in internal / external meetings as requested.
* Identify and meet personal job-related training and development as required.
* Undertake telephone liaison with relevant contacts.
* Provide assistance in terms of general and specific business support as required.





Person Specification





Location:

* Easily commutable to Colchester.
*



Qualifications:

* CSCS / JIB card holder
* C & G Electrical Installations Parts 1 & 2
* Experience:
*

* Previous electrical installation and maintenance work
* Solar experience / knowledge preferred but not essential
