Our client is a well established Building Contractor that has a diverse range of experience in the education, health, industrial, commercial, sport and leisure sectors for over 50 years. They now have a requirment for a Pre-Construction Manager.



Pre-Construction Manager (Build)

Directly Supervised Roles: Estimator(s) (Build) Estimating Assistant (Build) Purchasing Manager

Overall Purpose of Role: To provide a Bid Management and Estimating service that efficiently and effectively supports delivery of the business objectives of the Core Build Division.



Minimum Role Requirements:

Qualifications: Any one (or equivalent) of:- HNC/HND Building (or similar discipline) BA / BSc Building (or similar discipline) MCIOB (or equivalent professional organisation)

Experience: A broad experience & knowledge of building construction and a demonstrable successful career to date, providing an estimating and bid management service within the construction industry

Accountabilities:

1 Manage and develop relationships with existing allocated customers and targeted new customers, with a view to securing repeat business and generating tender opportunities that match with the Division's capabilities and in line with the Company's business plans
2 Project management, production and delivery of Core Build ITTs and Quality Bids (and equivalent):-

 on time;  in accordance with Company standards; and  in a way that satisfies customer expectations / requirements and in particular addresses fully / emphasises those matters that are high on the customer's agenda.

1 Supply & development of appropriately qualified building estimators who deliver tenders in accordance with company standards (including target costs) and in a way that enhances customer relations
2 Matching of building estimator with allocated tenders
3 Design and implementation of building estimating control systems that are fit for purpose
4 Maintain integrity of building estimator outputs:-

 tender prime cost;  adjudication information;  tender submissions;  contract reviews;  risk and opportunities register; and  handover briefing note.

1 Ensure that all relevant information in relation to allocated projects, including, but not limited to, information in respect of the customer in question and its professional team is available prior to adjudication so that the 'full picture' in relation to that project is understood at that time for settlement purposes and subsequently for the matching of management to projects in the event of an award
2 Ensure capable and efficient estimating support services for the Company
3 Departmental budget holder
