Job Description

My client is a Commercial Interiors business who have a vacancy for a Procurement Manager. The successful candidate will have experience with Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) this is essential.

The main purpose of the post is the efficient and effective procurement of all goods and materials

Key tasks

* Proactively lead and drive forward the procurement function
* Creation and implementation of procurement department improvement plans
* Timely processing of Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) procurement demand
* Negotiation with current suppliers to ensure "best deal" for the client is always secured
* Proactively source new suppliers of products and services to ensure "best deal" is being achieved
* Undertake tender exercises as required
* Ensure a continuous "cost reduction" programme is in place
* Continuous review and management of the "approved" supplier data base
* Key support to the Operations Director
* Monthly reporting to the Operations Director
* Undertake any reasonable tasks or duties that may be required

Key performance indicators

* Timely order processing of MRP procurement demand to support production
* On time delivery performance of all suppliers
* Achievement of annual cost saving targets
* Achievement of annual procurement department improvement plan

Key Attributes/Qualifications

* Ideally Degree and CIPS qualified
* Ideally from an industry related background
* Must have a minimum of 3 years MRP/Systems experience
* Must have a good level of people management skills
* Proactive forward thinker
* Committed and gets the job done
* Excellent team player
