Job Description

Working with a leading company, we currently have one of the biggest opportunities in Construction Project Management, in recent years, in Manchester. This is one of the biggest schemes the North West has seen in over 10 years and is set to produce and leave an iconic legacy for the City of Manchester.

Our client are a leading developer of design and build projects and are currently working on some of the region's biggest developments and regeneration schemes.

Ahead of this mixed-use leisure and accommodation scheme, they now are looking to add a Senior Project Lead to their team, initially for the pre-construction stage and latterly to take the project to site from inception to delivery. They are looking to appoint a Senior Manager who has worked on similar prestigious, high-end schemes of this nature previously and with particular experience of taking schemes, with a minimum value of £50m, from pre-construction to completion.

Reporting to the Operations Director, the individual will be instrumental in the project bid, which will culminate in a successful big submission and contract award. The individual will then follow to site and be responsible for leading the project, helping to form a site construction team to eventual delivery of the project to first class levels of safety, quality and on time and to cost.

The individual will be an experienced, dynamic and passionate individual who continually delivers above and beyond client expectations. They will have demonstrable ability to forge excellent long term relationships which result in repeat business.

Duties will include, but not limited to;

* Managing the day-to-day operational aspects of multiple or large-scale projects
* Minimising the Company's exposure and risk
* Serve as the lead and / or key participant in team and client meetings
* Planning and managing the programme
* Liaising with Company Directors and Client
* Leading a multi-disciplinary team
* Effectively communicating relevant project information to all stakeholders
* Challenging others to develop by clarifying roles and responsibilities
* Possess the expert knowledge to identify opportunities for change and the ability to convey the need for change
* Recognise areas for internal improvement and develop plans for implementation
* Supply chain management
* Management of the tender process
* Scope gap analysis
* Key participant in the project adjudication
* Compilation of Contractors Proposals
* Ensuring the effective performance management and development of direct reports, and the effective organisation of everyone within the project team
* Comply with and enforce standard policies and procedures
* Lead delivery of Health and Safety policy and standards

Requirements of the individual will include;

* Previous experience of managing high value and multi discipline projects
* Previous experience of managing high rise and residential projects
* A high degree of communication skills at all levels
* A sound knowledge of all aspects of health and safety requirements
* The knowledge and confidence to make strategic decisions and communicate those decisions to all stakeholders
* Demonstrates a passion and excitement for his/her work
* Tackles problems head-on and works to resolve them without delay
* Shares knowledge, ideas and expertise with others
* Degree qualified
* Chartered status, or working towards (desirable)
* CSCS (black)
