Job Description

The business

Working with one of the best respected contractors in the North West region, we currently have an opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to oversee a mixed-use scheme in Manchester. My client are a privately owned regional social housing contractor, with projects ranging from EWI, cladding, major refurbishments and new build social housing.

They strive to provide excellent customer service whilst offering value for money which is evident due to the fact the vast majority of contracts are undertaken on a repeat business basis. A stable workforce who embrace the ambitious, dynamic and innovative principles that the company has always thrived on has helped to drive this repeat custom and excellent reputation. Furthermore both Directors and Senior Management champion a supportive culture which is displayed via its hands on involvement in all schemes.

The company have strategically grown turnover to a level which requires additional support, therefore, the business has created a new requirement for a Project Manager with either EWI / roofing or New Build Housing experience.

The Projects

Initially, you'll be based on a high profile EWI scheme in Lancashire (running for the next 10-12 months) which is receiving a lot of attention from the client, the local community and the media. Client liaison will be crucial here - an ability to keep your operational and commercial teams ticking whilst maintaining client satisfaction.

Developing this, you'll then apply your new build operational experience, moving on to manage your own new build social housing development in the Merseyside / Lancashire area from the very beginning. Moving forward, although you'll have some involvement in the roofing and cladding side of the business, you'll specialise in the exciting, growing New Build division of this reputable social housing contractor.

Key responsibilities

Managing effective meetings; pre-start, hand-over meetings, sub-contractor progress, contract progress, internal team meetings as required

Responsible as No.1 on site and overseeing all operational and commercial aspects of project to see a final successful delivery of the project in question.

Responsible for the management, planning, programming & phasing of project(s).

Ensuring compliance with all aspects of both Health & Safety Legislation and internal H&S Management System

Involved with delivering project programme and phasing presentations to clients

Managing your team; setting objectives and developing people within it

Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external clients including all sub-contractors on site and the client's project management team.
