Job Description

Job Title: Quantity Surveyor (New Build Housing)

Location: Merseyside



One of the UK's largest house builders are currently in the market for an intermediate Quantity Surveyor.

My client are a top 5 national builder who have been established for over 50 years and currently have a turnover in excess of £1 billion. Many years of experience has made them specialists and a leading force within their market place. With 18 current live sites, 4 due to start and more in the pipeline my client is extremely busy hence they are looking to expand their team of surveyors from 6 to 7.

At present the commercial department consists of eight members in total; commercial director, chief QS, two senior QS's, 3 intermediate QS's and 1 trainee QS. The ideal candidate will have circa five years' experience within the new build housing industry however my client will also consider candidates from a main contracting background. On joining the company you will be responsible for between 3 and 4 sites.

You will be joining a very family orientated company; a company which looks after their staff and as a consequence has a low staff turnover with many of the staff having stayed loyal to the company for more than 20 years. Having recently met with the commercial director it is clear to see his intentions to promote from within and look after the staff within the commercial department. I have met with the management on numerous occasions and can vouch for their friendly and supportive nature.

My client will provide the right candidate with a salary of up to £45,000 + competitive package.

Key skills, knowledge and experience

Ability to work remotely

First rate communication and influencing skills

Good at developing relationships

Flexible - able to work at all levels and at hands on level

Proven written communication skills

Excellent level of numeracy

Computer literate in MS Office

Previous experience of building relationships with clients/customers

IT skills including Microsoft packages (advanced knowledge)

Previous experience working for a national house builder
