Job Description

My client are a highly successful Regional Contractor based in the Lancashire area. They operate across a variety of sectors including Health, Education, Retail and Commercial delivering new build and refurbishment projects. Due to a strong order book of work they are currently looking to strengthen their commercial team with the addition of a Project Quantity Surveyor. Reporting into a Commercial Director you will be working on Projects up to £15m throughout the North West.

Responsibilities of Quantity Surveyor will include:

Undertake all commercial requirements on projects

Preparation of monthly cost reports

Preparing and agreeing Monthly Valuations, including valuing variations and forecast final account

Appointment of Subcontractors

Maintain close working relationship with the client and design team to assist in the success of the project

Liaise with Contracts Management to review and monitor project costs

Skills and Knowledge

Knowledge of all aspects of the Quantity Surveying process gained through relevant contracting experience

Previous main contracting experience

Experience of traditional and Design & Build projects

Strong commercial acumen

Good working knowledge of construction methods and materials

Good numeracy & IT skills

Ability to carry out the role independently with minimal supervision on numerous projects simultaneously
