Our client - Your New Business:

Our client, based in Warrington, is an established specialist subcontractor, operating successfully for over 30 years in the niche market of industrial flooring. With significant experience working with blue-chip organisations, supplying repeat business to industrial market leaders, this business is enjoying sustained growth and a full forward order book totalling over £20m worth of contracts in the next 12 months.

Renowned in the industry for their successful relationships and expert service provision, over 70% of their work is generated through repeat business, highlighting the commitment to excellent delivery, customer satisfaction and business development. As an Estimator / Quantity Surveyor joining this business, you would be joining a stable business, gaining exposure to significant flooring solutions contracts as part of major new build and major refurbishment contracts for household name clients.

As Estimator / Quantity Surveyor, you will maintain smooth contact with clients, suppliers and internal operational teams, thereby satisfying the needs of both the customer and company with particular focus on managing cost and value on fast - paced subcontract works. By tracking contractual changes, reporting commercial performance and providing assistance and guidance to the commercial and site teams as appropriate.

Your duties and responsibilities as a Senior Quantity Surveyor:

* Maintain a strong working relationship with the client(s) over a multitude of on-going projects, ensuring prompt and fair payments in accordance with the contract terms
* Price prospective works and contribute to the completion and submission of tenders for work
* Forecast predicted spends, forecast project cash flows and prepare, negotiate and settle final accounts
* Negotiate variations with main contractors / customers and ensure maximum productivity across contracts
* Ensure the submission of relevant contract updates, including potential programme delays, issues or variations - to the business and to the client/customer where appropriate
* Supervise, mentor and encourage all subordinate staff in their personal professional development, including ensuring assistant quantity surveyors' participation in the management of subcontractors
* Monitor subcontractors against programme and ensure direct reports do likewise and offer advice and support on problem areas
* Maintain and coordinate cost and value reporting covering - both direct and indirect costs - in compliance with the commercial reporting timetable

Your skills and experience required:

You will be suitably qualified for an Estimator / Surveyor role (HND in construction or a similar, or superseding qualification will be advantageous) and demonstrate experience working in this position for a subcontractor.

An estimator/surveyor with experience working for a small main contractor will also be considered.

Your keen eye for detail and accurate estimating, pricing and forecasting will be demonstrable, and will significantly support your ability to manage contracts of varying size from inception (tender stage) through to completion.

Your skills as a negotiator will also be important, and will help maximise profits on all live and future contracts. You'll be a calming influence in a fast-paced environment and will be unfazed by contractual pressures from big-name clients.

Salary, Remuneration & other benefits on offer:

Our client is willing to offer a salary and package above market rate to secure the right individual - up to £50k package (negotiable for the right applicant). You'll also be rewarded with a car allowance and additional benefits.
