Job Description

Our client - Your New Business:

Our client is a well-known regional Main Contractor operating on a variety of commercial, residential and leisure projects (ranging in value from £5m to £20m) across the North West. A major name in North West and North Wales main contracting circles, this is a business that will provide an excellent career move for the ambitious Quantity Surveyor.

With exceptional experience on major construction and refurbishment main contracting projects in Liverpool, Chester and Manchester, this business will expose you to a variety of challenging experiences, as well as offering the opportunity to work for a well-known construction brand. Together we are looking to expand the current commercial team, and are seeking an ambitious Project Quantity Surveyor who is looking for the opportunity to step up and manage high profile projects.

Based between the stunning offices in Cheshire and your allocated project(s), you'll be expected to maximise value on your jobs, working collaboratively with project stakeholders internally and externally.

Your duties and responsibilities as Quantity Surveyor:

* Maximise value on all projects, using negotiation skills to ensure payments are claimed on time
* Maintain contract reports and ensure internal and external stakeholders are kept up to date with project progress - including forecasting predicted spends and variations, Build and maintain strong working relationships with operational teams, directors, clients and subcontractors to ensure timely completion of projects to budget
* Procure and manage multiple subcontractor accounts as appropriate to varying construction projects, and ensure subcontractors are managed fairly and in accordance with contract terms
* Prepare, negotiate and settle final accounts
* Support the development of assistant quantity surveyors where appropriate

Your skills and experience required:

You will hold an HND in Construction (or a related subject) or above qualification, although a candidate who demonstrates significant practical experience will also be considered. Your experience in design and build / main contracting projects will be critical, and experience managing projects between £5 and £15m will be particularly desirable. Crucially, you'll show desire to maximise value, maintain relationships with subcontractors and site teams, and progress your own career.
You will be comfortable managing between 1 and 3 projects at any one time, depending on their size and complexity. An ability to ensure maximum profitability across the business' operations will be critical - so a keen eye for detail is important, whether it's through yourself or through your supporting and guidance of an Assistant QS.

Salary, Remuneration & other benefits on offer:

Our client is willing to offer a salary and package above market rate to secure the right individual; a salary of up to £45,000 plus a car/car allowance and a benefits package (negotiable depending on experience).

This role is perfect for a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor that is seeking a number one role in which they can accelerate their career progression. The projects involved will also look exceptional on your CV.
