The Health & Safety (SHEQ) Advisor role:

This is a fantastic construction Health & Safety (SHEQ) Advisor position, supporting the M&E and MEP services of a major contractor. You'll have responsibility for Health & Safety compliance, as well as driving the environmental and quality standards of all operations - with specific reference to the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.

Based in the Oxford, Northampton or Berskhire region, from the word go you'll be involved in high profile construction projects and contracts - managing the Health & Safety performance of site teams and management staff, supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of a positive Health & Safety culture, and positive engagement with environmental and quality standards in all construction operations.

Your skills and experience:

Being at or working towards Grad IOSH status will be ideal, as will holding or working towards the NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (NVQ Level 4, for example). Experience in construction, M&E or fit-out environments for a main contractor is essential for the work you'll be looking after in this role, and you'll be able to demonstrate the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with construction staff and management. Demonstrable experience of managing subcontractors will be key, and you'll have examples of dealing with the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards in everyday operations, and experience of supporting the Head of Health & Safety in reviewing and continuously improving these policies and standards will also be ideal.

You'll have the opportunity to work with renowned and reputable construction directors, who'll support you in the "firm but fair" implementation of your Health & Safety approach. You'll also get exposure to a diverse business, which will include a significant contribution to the reviewing and improvement of the Health & Safety policies, procedures and management systems, giving you ownership of the progress in the coming years.

Salary, Remuneration & other benefits on offer:

Our client is willing to offer a salary and package above market rate to secure the right individual; a salary of £35,000 plus a car or allowance, pension and healthcare.
