Senior Estimator - Offices & Leisure Industries

Job Description

Our client is a multi-faceted collection of like-minded businesses whose primary aim is to remove the speculation associated with development.

They are currently seeking to recruit a Senior Estimator to further strengthen the cost planning as an in house and will be responsible for compiling costs, budgets and feasibility studies. You will work closely with the pre-construction team and will have a bias towards Offices & Leisure with values ranging from £1.5 million to £20 million. This role will be based in our offices in Manchester.

Role Responsibilities:

* Produce priced tenders that are accurate, clearly detailed, competitive and returned within deadlines
* Development appraisals and cost planning
* Develop new business with prospective clients and maintain relationships with existing clients
* Provide clearly identified price build-ups to the Contract team
* Responsible for assisting with bill of quantities
* Building up project preliminaries in conjunction with the planning team
* Tender analysis and assessment of commercial risks
* Tender adjudication & value engineering
* Preparing and submitting quotations for work
* Helping with bids for new contracts and supporting buying activities

Skills and experience required:

* Degree or HNC in Construction/Building/Surveying
* At least 5 years' experience in a Commercial role
* Design & build experience is essential
* Experience in residential care, assisted living or leisure projects is desirable
* Main contractor / general construction background
* Ability to cost plan and prepare builders quantities & estimates
* Experienced in using both Conquest & Causeway Systems
