Our client - Your New Business:

Our client is a renowned regional Building Contractor operating across the North West and the Midlands, with an established and continuously growing office in the Manchester area, supported by satellite offices. This £40m+ turnover client is an organisation with more than 50 years' experience, and as such they have developed long running relationships with several high profile developers and authorities across the residential, student accommodation and commercial sectors.

Their reputation has been forged through the continuing delivery of exceptional projects valuing up to £15m across a variety of sectors. Managed by a dynamic and astute Managing Director, who contributes hugely to the practical running and operations of the business, this exceptional client have a reputation for looking after their staff, customers and suppliers.

You will have responsibility in the first instance to undertake all Senior Quantity Surveyor (number one) duties on a £12m high rise accommodation new build project based in North Stoke. Based on site, you will also be required in the office (Manchester) from time to time, but flexible arrangements are just one benefit of working for this business.

This represents an excellent challenge for a Senior Quantity Surveyor seeking to broaden their horizons, or a competent and experienced Project-level Quantity Surveyor seeking a step up to the next level.

Your duties and responsibilities as a Senior Quantity Surveyor:

* Maintain and report commercial information on the project to the Managing Director, customer and suppliers/subcontractors
* Build and maintain a strong working relationship with all project stakeholders as above
* Manage cost and value reporting, and ensure overall profitability of the project
* Forecast predicted spends, forecast project cash flows and prepare, negotiate and settle final accounts
* Manage (and procure where necessary) subcontractor accounts and performance, including ensuring that subcontractor payments are dealt with in accordance with relevant terms
* Ensure prompt and regular submission of main contract payment applications and ensure that subcontractor payments are dealt with fairly and in accordance with subcontract terms
* Supervise, mentor and encourage all subordinate staff in their personal professional development, including ensuring assistant quantity surveyors' participation in the management of subcontractors

Your skills and experience required:

You will be suitably qualified for a Senior Quantity Surveyor Position (HND in construction or a similar, or superseding qualification). Your experience in design and build projects will be essential. Having worked for a main contractor in the past, you will be comfortable acting as the commercial lead on construction projects ranging in value from £5m - £15m, and your ability to handle contract and cost variations, subcontractor negotiations and supplier procurement will stand you in great stead to succeed. Experience in the high-rise, social housing (new build) or residential sectors would also be desirable.

You will be a strong leader, someone who takes the bull by the horns and drives projects forward - ensuring things get done to cost and to schedule.

Salary, Remuneration & other benefits on offer:

Our client is willing to offer a salary and package above market rate to secure the right individual; a package totalling up to £60k including a car/car allowance and significant fringe benefits including a mobile phone, lap top, contributory pension and flexible working arrangements.
