Job Description

The Role:

Our client requires a Senior Quantity Surveyor. This newly created position is due to successful growth.


Infrastructure Services
Our client has a turnover of circa £10m and carries out a wide range of construction services that are managed by highly experienced professionals. All works carried out are completed to full client and industry standards and satisfaction.

They undertake all aspects of groundwork's including site clearance, demolition, drainage, earth works, foundations, highways and pavement works.

Concrete Structures
they carry out formwork to accommodate installation of in-situ reinforced concrete. They supply and erect shutters to form slabs, bases, foundations, lift shafts etc.

all aspects of drainage works are carried out from deep drainage to local gulley connections. They carry out air testing on all drainage runs to industry standards.

they cover a wide range of utility works incorporating gas, electricity, water and communication ducting.

The successful applicant has an opportunity to become a member of the senior management team with excellent future prospects within the business.

You will be responsible for

* Compilation and submission of Tenders
* Pre Contract commercial negotiations with prospective Clients
* Chasing up / analysis of new Contract Notices
* Preparation of Memorandum of Understanding and Joint Venture Agreements with prospective Clients, Contractors and Suppliers
* Validate scope of works Joint Venture Contracts
* Compilation and Negotiations
* Liaising with the Client and his Site Representatives
* Vetting and approving Contracts ahead of Contract Signing including new forms of contracts e.g. NEC conditions of contract, FIDIC Orange Book Conditions of contract etc.
* Financial control of projects including Monthly Cost Reporting, Sub-Contract Measures and Payments, Material Purchases, Valuations and Final Accounts
* Preparation of Contractual Claims and Extension of Time
* Compilation of Contract Correspondence as necessary
* Regular liaison with the Contracts Manager and Site Engineers to ensure successful project delivery
* Attend Project Review and Progress Meetings
* Preparation of Contract Financial Plans
* Negotiate and agree Sub-contractors Contracts and Accounts
* Contract Management when required
* Represent the company as and when required
* Participate in training provided by the company
* Any other duties associated with a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Estimator position
