Job Description

Job Title: Site Manager
Location: Flintshire

A Top 10 UK house builder are currently in the market for a Site Manager to manage a brand new traditional build development of 200+ houses in Cheshire.
This rapidly expanding residential developer have been established for over 80 years and have revenues exceeding £1 billion. My client have established themselves an excellent reputation within the industry, building in excess of 1000 homes each year in the North West within the A* builders category with few reportable items.

My client also build extra care homes, schools, apartment blocks and homes for councils and housing associations however they are most dominant within the new build private specification sector and will be 76% open market developers by 2017.

My client is starting a brand new volume development of 400 traditional build houses in the Cheshire area. The project will be divided by two teams; each of which will require an experienced site manager to lead the build. There is a minimum of 3 years work on the job for Team A and up to 7 years work on the job for Team B. Team A will finish the job after three years and will then move on to another project within the North West. Furthermore, Team B will complete the build which is estimated to take approximately four more years.

You will be joining a tight knit team who get on well during work hours but also enjoy socialising outside of work. Their great team ethos and low staff turnover speaks volumes about the company. My client is looking for an experienced site manager with previous experience working for volume private specification builders. In addition, you will be enthusiastic, receptive and open to new ideas. You will be confident in your ability as a site manager with a proven track record of few reportable items on the job. You will contribute towards the success of the business and help them maintain their excellent reputation as an A* builder.

My client is offering up to £47,000 plus a competitive package for the right candidate.
Package benefits Inc. discretionary yearly bonus, car or £5k car allowance, pension (contributory), healthcare and 25 days holiday per annum.

Your skills knowledge and experience required include but not limited to:

New build social housing experience is essential for the role

Previous experience working for national house builders is preferable

Strong communication skills

Ability to motivate and support staff

Ability to liaise with internal and external personnel

Meeting deadlines



Attention to detail

Able to embrace training

Qualifications and training - essential

CSCS Card at Site Manager Level

Valid SMSTS certificate

Valid First Aid at Work certificate

Qualifications and training - desirable

NVQ Level 3-4, BTEC diploma in Building Construction or similar

Valid Scaffold Appreciation certificate


Trade experience and site experience preferable

Up to date knowledge of health and safety obligations and building legislation

Special requirements

Current full UK driving licence
