Job Description

Working with a well-established and now quickly growing sub-contractor we have an opportunity for an experienced Technical Manager. My client are a circa £30m turnover business with a strong reputation for repeat business with a select group of clients. They are specialists in all types of groundworks for domestic and commercial properties for both local and national developers.

Due to an ongoing increase in work they now seek an experience Technical Manager.

* To assist the Construction Manager in the procurement of construction works.
* To oversee the adoption of roads and sewers.
* Timely submission of notices to local Authorities when carrying out off site works.
* Liaise with Clients on technical and adoption matters.
* To oversee the co-ordination of customer services works with contracts managers, operatives and clients.
* To review all Site Investigation Reports and report on the risks prior to tendering.
* To review client drawings and specifications to ensure strict adherence.
* Instigate full QA procedures and on site working practices
* Provide technical advice on specific developments / projects and assists in the preparation of budgets, forecasts and operational plans.
* Material take off's to assist Contracts Managers when procuring sewer works.
* Provide cut and fill quantification for tendering purposes.
* Instruct and review as built surveys on road works to ensure tarmac company's work to specification.
* Provide CAD design support.
* Instigate in conjunction with the technical co-ordinator a company database of all drawing amendments, setting out, survey reports and as built surveys.

The suitable applicant will;

* Work effectively as part of the management team, positively influencing the profitability and efficiency of the company.
* Have overall management and execution of, where necessary, key technical functions as directed by the Managing Director / Construction Manager / Commercial Manager.
* Create dialogue and strong working relationships with the Construction team throughout the process.
* Provide direction and support to all employees with Technical changes within the industry.
* Appraise different methods of construction.
* Have a proven understanding of the technical implications of the methods and sequences of build that is proposed and planned.
* Have awareness and understanding of client specifications.
