Job Description

Having successfully secured several contracts for Principal Inspections our client is looking to recruit a Technical Manager.

The Technical Manager is responsible for the quality of the tenders submitted for inspection work and for the quality of the inspections executed along with the associated reports.

Duties

* Prepare tenders for significant inspection contracts, including both the written and commercial elements
* Prepare programmes for complex inspections, including site reconnaissance
* Train our inspectors in working to the latest standards
* Prepare inspection plans for significant structures and brief our site teams on the same
* Write the recommendations section of principal inspection reports
* Act as internal client in connection with inspection related IT projects, notably the programme for automating detailed inspections of rail structures
* Contribute to the strategic development of the business

The role has excellent promotion and career development prospects

Skills and capabilities

* Chartered Civil Engineer (MIC or FICe) essential
* Bridge inspection experience preferred
* Bridge design and/or construction experience preferred
* Analytical and problem solving skills
* Bid writing and assembly skills
* Communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to lead meetings and workshops
* Energetic and enthusiastic
* Experienced in using business software, including Word, Excel and Power-Project
