Job Description

Job title: Technical Standards Manager

Location: West Midlands

Salary: £35,000-£42,000 + package

One of the UK's largest and most innovative house builders are currently in the market for a Technical Standards Manager for their new division in the West Midlands.

This large and profitable national private spec house builder have been established for over 60 years and currently turnover in excess of £40 million. A dominant player within the market place boasting a large private spec portfolio as well as a large and successful new build social housing division. Their new division in the West Midlands currently have 4 live sites with many more in the pipeline.

The purpose of this job is:

* To provide sustainability advice to the company
* Produce code for sustainable homes, Ecohomes assessments where necessary
* Produce home energy performance certificates for all properties using NHER and BRE licenses.
* To ensure a consistent quality of building construction and compliance with drawing information and construction legislation by carrying out site inspections; monitor and comment on construction information from both internal design departments and external architects and engineers; provide technical advice when required.

Knowledge and Skills:

* Extensive knowledge of the Building Regulation, NHBC Standards and any associated British Standards.
* Minimum 15 years production drawing experience with an architectural practice and / or developer predominately in housebuilding. Some experience in project management and the development progress.
* Working knowledge of CAD (preferably AutoCAD).
* Ability to liaise with personnel at all levels of production from construction staff up to and including Managing Directors.
* Ability to liaise with purchasers.
* Working knowledge of SAP

My client is offering a salary of between £35,000 - £42,000 + package. Package benefits include (but are not limited to), company car or car allowance (£480 per month), 20 days holiday per annum plus bank holidays, company pension and healthcare.
