Assistant Quantity Surveyor (with potential for rapid promotion to Quantity Surveyor)

Location: Preston

£40,000 to £45,000

We are currently seeking an ambitious and highly motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a leading Civil Engineering Groundworks company working with Blue Chip House Builders.

The successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor will have the opportunity to work for a well-regarded, leading name within the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

* Work alongside the Senior Quantity Surveyor to ensure the smooth delivery of projects
* Assist in the preparation of tender documentation, including bills of quantities and cost estimates
* Liaise with subcontractors to ensure timely and accurate delivery of packages
* Monitor subcontractor costs and prepare accurate cost reports
* Assist in the preparation of valuations and variations
* Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and negotiate changes where necessary

Key Skills and Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
* Previous experience of working on civil engineering
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and relevant software packages
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Proactive and able to work to tight deadlines
