Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Leading Subcontractor

Our client is a leading sub-contractor working on projects up to £10m in value.

The primary objective of the role of the Graduate / Assistant Quantity Surveyor is to assist the Senior / Project Quantity Surveyor to compile timely and accurate cost analysis for Client Projects and Contracts, including control of all expenditure associated with the provision of new build and refurbishment services provided by the Company.

Also, to provide support to Contract and Project Managers through producing accurate and timely information associated with administration of contract documents.

Key Accountabilities

Assisting the Senior / Project Quantity Surveyor in the following duties: Management and administration of various client Contract Suites - JCT, NEC3, NEC4 etc.

Attendance of sub-contractor pre-start meetings and preparation of sub-contractor orders for the full procurement process of both labour only and labour plant material sub-contractors. Review and screen sub-contractors for inclusion within the company database.

This includes continual review and feedback for existing sub-contractors. Analyse and review sub-contractor applications and produce payment certificates for approval. Quantify and schedule necessary materials for the procurement from working construction drawings.

Assess supplier quotations against budgets based on budgets set out in the Cost Value Reconciliation document.

Raise purchase orders for material and plant supplies.

Setting up client application for payment document Submit application for payments to the client including VAT invoices where applicable.

Prepare and maintain variation costings including submission and agreement with client.

Preparation of final accounts.

Pursue client for outstanding payments and administer contractual rights where necessary.

Prepare necessary contractual notices and client correspondence.

Carry out detailed measure of works and provide comparison against tender.

Preparations of project specific cash flow.

Carry out analysis and evaluation of project opportunities and threats.

Preparation and review of cost value analysis and reconciliation.

Where required for schemes operating under PAS 2030 completion of necessary conformance paperwork.

Must comply with appropriate Health & Safety and Environmental Legislation and ensure compliance with relevant company management systems.
