Purpose of the Role

The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will assist the commercial team on site with the procurement of work packages, subcontract management/administration, administering of the main contract, risk management and feeding into the project CVR and monthly reporting process.

This role will require a passion for first class delivery, implementing best practice and continuous improvement and promoting the business externally.

Key Duties / Responsibilities

Our client has a flexible approach to supporting all activities, preferably but not limited to:

* Assist in the management of the contract cost reporting.
* Assist in preparation of cash flows forecasts for sub-contractor payments
* Assist in the preparation of accurate forecasts of project costs to completion and final value.
* Assist with the preparation of sub-contract documentation.
* Prepare payment certificates for sub-contract work.
* Assist with the valuation of variations.
* Assist with the preparation of claims.
* Assist with the preparation of interim application for payments.
* Assist in the preparation of accurate monthly cost reports.
* Identify potential risk and opportunities to the project commercial lead.

Work Experience / Expectations

* Site based experience on a similar project size/type.
* Subcontractor management.
* Subcontractor administration.
* Tier 1 contracting experience (desirable).
* Experience within the most current forms of procurement.
* Detailed knowledge of codes of practice and other regulatory material.
* Numeracy and bid/report writing.

Qualification / Health & Safety Requirements

* Relevant Professional Qualification in Quantity Surveying or similar (BSc level or equivalent) or working towards.
* A valid CSCS card is a requirement.

Personal Qualities

* The individual should have a desire to continuously pursue innovation and development.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills coupled with the ability to form effective working relationships.
* Experience within the most current forms of procurement.
* Detailed knowledge of codes of practice and other regulatory material.
* Numeracy and bid/report writing.
* Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes with clarity.
* Strong work ethics.
* Holds a current driving (desirable).
