Job Description

Reporting directly to the Managing Director you will be responsible for all aspects within the Business Development Department of a £20m+ Construction SME. The role shall include managing an existing coordinator to support the business development functions in the pursuit of new business whilst managing an existing framework and client base. The ideal candidate shall have the relevant experience in bid writing, document presentation to complete EOI, PQQ & ITT submissions expected within a main contractor business.

New Business

* Highlight new business opportunities in line with the ongoing strategy of the business.
* Maintain existing and strengthen the corporate brand and client base.
* Highlight growth areas of business in both current and new market sectors.
* Maintain and develop as necessary the company profile, image, and marketing material.

Bid/Procurement Development

* Work as part of the current preconstruction department to manage, structure and produce bid proposals and material to meet the needs of frameworks and tender submissions.
* Produce expressions of interest for new business.
* Manage and produce PQQ information from inception through to submission.
* Creatively produce and develop all bid support literature including CV's, profiles, case studies etc.

Marketing, Communications & Social Value

* Produce and manage all social media posts, news feeds and website content.
* Identify, produce, and manage all award applications.
* Create and manage company press releases.
* Represent the business at corporate events including client and framework events and meetings.
* Managing and delivering all social value opportunities including reporting to both internal and external requirements.


* Ensure all company accreditations are kept up to date and current for all business activities.
* Manage all company Tender/Framework communication portals.
* Maintain all marketing accreditations including Investors in People, CHAS/Safecontractor, Constructionline, BeFair Framework and any others required to support all business operations.


* Report the current position of business development, new business leads, new clients, current bids, and tenders including results and feedback.
* Produce and manage ongoing and new business KPIs.
