Job Description

My client are a leading construction group delivering major projects throughout the UK. They operate in the new build student accommodation, high-rise residential apartments and new build housing sectors. They are a multi-million pound turnover group and a leader in their sectors of the construction industry.



They have a growing appreciation for sustainability and are very conscious of the wider environmental impact of their growing portfolio of large-scale construction projects. As such they are looking to take a more focused approach to BREEAM - something they've always turned to external consultants for but now are looking to bring in house with the appointing of a BREEAM AP/Manager or in-house Sustainability Analyst.



As such they are looking for a BREEAM champion - someone with previous knowledge of and experience with implementing BREEAM strategy and processes. This individuals could be an appointed person or have a desire to work towards such accreditation.



This could suit a Sustainability Analyst from a BREEAM assessor looking to transition to an in house role within a contractor, a Design or Technical Manager with extensive knowledge and experience around implementation or possibly an ambitious individual who has worked in an admin support role, working with and around BREEAM implementation and applications.

Degree level qualified in a relevant field with AP training from BRE would be preferred but not essential whilst BREEAM experience is essential.



The role - reporting to the Design Director - will be to define and implement a long-term strategy for the wider group, whilst working on a day to day basis with the Design and Technical teams in their various divisions, focusing on better implementation on a project by project basis and ultimately prepare BREEAM submissions.



They require someone who has specialist skills in sustainability and environmental design combined with a high level of competence and understanding in BREEAM and its assessment process. The individual will use their expertise to assist project teams by facilitating cross-project consideration and collaboration on solutions to scheme compliance, target setting and performance monitoring.



The role will be based from their regional office in Chester, with a flexible approach to agile working including working from home, the office and various sites dependant on workload.



The role will attract a negotiable salary of between £35,000 and £45,000 plus associated package.
