Buildings Officer

Salary: £25,000 to £30,000 per annum, dependent on experience
Hours of work: Full Time - 35 hours per week
Contract term: 6-month contract

We're working with a leading Manchester-based charity that oversees the maintenance and repair of churches across the region.

They are looking for a Buildings Officer to assist with day-to-day reactive and emergency repairs.

Duties to include but not limited to:

* Undertake the management of day-to-day reactive and emergency repairs.
* Liaison with the clergy in an advisory capacity on building matters
* Provide reactive and emergency repairs and maintenance
* Identify and specify repairs appropriate to the age and style of building
* Investigate and form conclusions to resolve building-related problems
* Preparation of, and replying to, correspondence on building matters
* Letting out, control and supervision of day works, emergency repairs etc
* Assist in the management of rental properties
* Identify, investigate and schedule defects
* Apply for Tree Preservation Orders and Listed Building consent works
* Condition and building surveys, both the interior and exterior of the properties and surrounding land
* Prepare work schedules and tender documents
* Undertake any other duties, either on a regular or occasional basis as may be required by the Director of Land and Property or the Senior Surveyor.
