Civil Technician - Highways - Consultancy

Job Description

I'm exclusively working with a consultancy based in the city centre of Manchester that require a Civil Technician to join their team - someone with a minimum 2 years experience working in a consultancy environment up to a Senior Level.

They are prepared to offer up to £25K for someone with a minimum of 2 years experience working in a consultancy environment and the top end of the salary banding on offer is £40K for a Senior.

Following rapid expansion over recent years the company is currently undergoing an exciting change programme and now seeking a Civil Engineering Technician to join their thriving infrastructure team. The main focus of their infrastructure teams are projects in highways, drainage, flood risk and residential development, but also supporting their other teams across the UK to deliver a wide variety of projects

Key role responsibilities:

* Working collaboratively with engineers and other technicians to deliver S38/S104/S278 type infrastructure scheme designs;
* Develop and implement design technologies and standards to deliver BIM (Building Information Modelling) solutions to designs; and
* The mentoring and supervision of technicians.

Key skills, experience and attributes required:

* A minimum qualification of an HND or HNC in Engineering or similar;
* Proficient user of AutoCAD;
* Have the ability to prepare CAD drawings to a standard suitable for construction and technical approvals;
* Experience of infrastructure design software such as XPSite3D, Autodesk Civils3D + Vehicle Swept Path, Causeway PDS and Micro Drainage is desirable;
* Experience in infrastructure scheme designs;
* Good IT skills, including MS Office;
* Excellent communication skills, to liaise with colleagues and clients;
* Ability to work within a team and also able work under own initiative; and
* Excellent organisational skills and able to prioritise workload.
