Our client has wide-ranging expertise whether it is a small or large scale construction, new build or refurbishment, project or a service requirement covering property maintenance, their expert teams work 'hand-in-hand' with clients, stakeholders, consultants and supply chain specialists to consistently deliver best value solutions.

They are seeking a Materials Construction Buyer.

Duties & Responsibilities:



* Complete responsibility for the procurement of materials and plant hire for all sites.
* Building and managing the supply chain and setting up rebate agreements.
* Reporting on project material costs on a monthly basis to the commercial manager.
* Attending monthly site project meetings to evaluate the monthly progress on all areas of construction.
* Attending target setting cost meetings to present the material and prelim costs
* Advising the estimating team on; material costs and plant hire rates for tender & budget purposes.
* Producing enquiries for construction materials and were necessary ensuring that the correct construction drawings and contract documentation were included e.g. for bespoke products such as trussed rafters, timber stairs and reconstituted stone
* Collating all quotations received, agreeing prices within given targets and placing purchase orders in accordance with agreed programme dates.
* Using material schedules to raise purchase orders
* Expediting all site requisitions ensuring delivery dates were adhered to.
* Liaising with the site management team to minimise material waste on site.
* Sourcing potential new suppliers where necessary.
* Liaising with; contract managers, site managers and project surveyors for construction and cost related issues.
* Resolving invoice queries and agreeing relevant credits where necessary



Salary & Remuneration will be proportionate to skills and experience
