Job Description

Our client is an established Groundworks & Civil Engineering specialist based in Merseyside. They specialise roads & sewers and other associated works on mainly new build housing projects throughout the region, turning over circa £15m per year.
With ongoing growth in turnover and workload, they are now looking to add an experienced Construction Director to sit between the Managing Director and a team of 4 Contracts Managers.

This role will be full time reporting into the Managing Director and will be responsible for the pre-construction and Construction Teams whilst working closely with the Commercial team. The role will support the successful execution of groundworks packages on new build housing sites. Candidates will need to demonstrate experience in working within this sector, extensively.
A minimum of 3 years experience within a similar role, preferably a competitor in this sector, is also required.

Key Responsibilities to include:

* Working on tenders, winning work and providing hands-on site support to your teams.
* Working with a commercial team to ensure the target forecasts are met.
* Assist 4 strong Contracts Management team.
* Manage the performance of client relationships ensuring expectations are managed and achieved to retain clients.
* Lead project meetings internally and with clients.
* Oversee and support sites ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standard.
* On both a weekly and monthly basis present project WIP to the Managing Director.
* Accountable for project financial performance, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded.
* Responsible for leading a robust SHEQ responsibility across all projects.
* Responsible for overseeing the management of skills and resources to safeguard each project.
* Support the bid proposal by evaluation and appraisal of each project.
* Assist in the preparation and maintenance of programmes and documents to monitor project progress.
* Lead the commercial team to ensure the procurement of best value contracts and risk is mitigated.
* Review value engineering and cost engineering are implemented and followed throughout project cycle.
* Develop, coach and recruit individuals to build a high performing team of project professionals and ensure a pipeline of high talent
