Job Description

A long established Regional Building Contractor based in the North West are currently looking to appoint a Design Manager to work at both pre construction and delivery stages of projects. The company have an excellent reputation of delivering projects for both public and private sector clients ranging from £500k to £30m in value, including student accommodation, extra care, education, health, leisure, retail, apartments and mixed use developments.

The role will be based between the office and site and you will be responsible for the management of design related issues at both preconstruction and the Construction Stages of individual projects. You will be responsible for auditing and assessing design information before and during construction and ensuring that the design is compliant to relevant legislation and technical requirements. You will manage and coordinate external consultants in their day-to-day duties related to design, coordination and technical aspects of production information and to ensure delivery within the constraints of time, quality, budget and technical requirements.

Experience and Qualifications required:

* HND/Degree level in a construction/design related subject
* Previous experience working as a Design Manager or Design Co-ordinator for a Main Contractor is desirable
* Strong technical knowledge in the construction of complex building types
* Knowledge of current design, planning legislation and compliance issues.
* Knowledge of BIM
* Design & Build experience
