Job Description
I'm exclusively working with a house Builder based in North Wales (close to Llandudno) requiring a Design Manager to join their team.It's essential for this candidate to have a house building background:
Main Responsibilities:
1. To attend internal and external meetings including chairing and accurately minute as necessary ensuring distribution to relevant parties.
2. To mentor assistant design manager.
3. Review design drawings in accordance with Building Regulations.
4. Review design proposals from internal and external consultants ensuring most competitive and effective solution arrived at.
5. Support Procurement Department in evaluation of alternative design solutions offered by subcontractors.
6. Research and develop new products for alternative forms of construction.
7. Monitor Health & Safety issues.
8. Occasionally advise on Estimating schemes.
9. Continue professional development.
Knowledge, skills and experience required:
Requiring education/ qualification to a level of NVQ 5/ Professional qualification or equivalent qualifications
Good knowledge of Building Regulations
Basic knowledge of AutoCAD design software course and Adobe Acrobat
Strong time management and communication skills
Good knowledge of Word and Excel
