Job Description
Our client are an award-winning contractor with schemes throughout the North West. They currently have a requirement to add a Finishing Foreman to their existing site team.They operate across predominantly in the housing regeneration and new development sector and have a strong pipeline of work for the coming 5 years in the region.
Their project in Lancaster now requires an experienced Finishing Foreman to assist the existing site team (Project Manager & Site Managers) in the closeout and handover period of this busy housing site, which consists of a number of regenerated units finished to a high-standard for the private-rental market.
site operations will run well into 2019 before a phase of new build housing also begins on site. this phase will then head through to late 2020.
Candidates must have a trade background, preferably in joinery and must hold as a minimum: current driving licence, SSSTS or SMSTS and First Aid (3 day course). They will have worked in a Finishing role previously, preferably as Finishing Foreman or Aftercare Manager.
Computer skills would be an advantage, but not essential. The ability to procure materials in conjunction with the Site Manager is a must. This role is initially at Lancaster but following completion in 2020 it would be expected that work could be elsewhere in the North West region.
The role will involve supporting the Site Management team in the following aspects;
* Carrying out plot inspections at various stages of the build process.
* Write lists of defects and issue non-conformance notices to subcontractors (paper format and via email).
* Coordinate with contractors for when works should be completed by.
* Use the subcontract manual and trade specifications as a basis for managing the subcontractor's obligations.
* Order any non-supply and fit materials for works to be completed and ensure they are checked for damage and compliance.
* Liaise with the Customer Care team to schedule inspections of plots that you have signed off as ready for quality control inspection.
* Liaise with the NHBC and Housing Association to action remedial items raised.
* Progress report back to the senior site team.
* Maintain accurate detailed reports.
* Ensure all plots have a customer care pass before obtaining CML prior to legal completion.
* Carry out pre-occupation checks on all properties prior to handover.
