Job Description

Building Careers UK are currently working with a leading Northwest Housing Group based in the Merseyside area.

Due to a change within their Asset & Compliance team we are looking for a Head of Compliance and Building Safety to report into the Director of Asset Management. This role will have the direct management and support of a compliance team as well as cross departmental working with the customer care, property services and the investment teams- providing specialist knowledge, processes and data to support and assist the compliance and Building Safety function of the Group.

This role will be responsible for:

* Ensuring compliance as set out by the Building Safety Bill and Fire Safety Bill by managing all properties in accordance with the Safety Case Report and ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Building Assessment Certificate.
* Ensuring all compliance and statutory obligations are met for all areas of property management services.
* Complying with all notices issued by the Building Safety Regulator, including mandatory reporting, acting as first point of contact with customers for complaints handling to information provision.
* Responsible for the preparation and proposal of financial plans, budget setting and reporting.
* Procurement and delivery of statutory compliance contracts and cyclical servicing programmes.
* Ensuring that all relevant aspects of Health and Safety legislation and Building Regulations are adhered to, ensuring that the business complies with legislation relating to the safety of buildings as well as being responsible for the development of Building Safety Cases, monitoring the completion of any resulting actions.
* Liaising with residents and their contractors about proposed works within flats- developing a Resident Engagement Strategy that will provide an internal escalation route for resident concerns and outcomes.
* To develop effective monitoring and data systems.

Ideally, the successful candidate will be Degree/ HND qualified or have considerable professional experience with membership of a professional body. P405 Asbestos Management is a requirement.

* Hybrid working - 7-hour days between 8.30am and 5.30pm (Mon - Fri) in the office or from home. There will be a requirement to attend our office/assets locations when needed.
