Job Description
Head of RepairsWe are working with a North West based HA as they look to appoint a new Head of Repairs to oversee their planned and responsive maintenance programmes
Reporting to the Director of Repairs, the head of repairs will ensure that the in-house team delivers a market leading, innovative, customer focused and commercially competitive service by providing outstanding leadership and a commitment to continuous change management and improvement.
Purpose of the Role
* To lead the operational development and continuous improvement of the in-house repairs team to ensure it provides a service at the forefront of its sector.
* To manage the operational delivery of the organisations repairs service delivering high levels of customer satisfaction, commercial competiveness and high levels of regulatory compliance
* To ensure the effective delivery of the company vision and values, providing clear direction and effective leadership to support a culture and climate which inspires service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
* Work with the Director or repairs to develop and successfully deliver the overall repairs strategy and business plan
* Develop medium and longer term objectives for the repairs service to ensure that the service remains at the forefront of sector innovation and best practice, including the effective use of technology.
* Embed a strong performance culture and a commitment to the customer experience and satisfaction, ensuring the delivery of high quality homes and services.
* Provide effective operational leadership and support and develop a culture that motivates colleagues to deliver service excellence.
* Work closely with the repairs senior management team to ensure an integrated customer focused and commercially competitive service.
* Ensure the in-house repairs team are appropriately structured, resourced, supported and trained, so as to be accountable for providing a quality, cost effective service to all customers.
The Successful Candidate
QUALIFICATIONS & PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS:
· Educated to degree level or equivalent through training / experience
· IOSH Managing Safely Certificate (or equivalent)
· Full driving license
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
· Management and leadership experience in a large scale property maintenance service
· Proven relationship builder and influencer with stake holders
· Proven management skills - both strategic and operational across multi disciplinary teams
· The ability to motivate, inspire and influence a large and diverse workforce by example and persuasion
· The ability to develop and project a positive image of Great Places through personal, written and oral skills
· Proven experience in policy and procedure writing and delivery
· Experience of managing financial budgets
