Job Description

Award-winning employer in the social housing and construction sector is looking to add a Construction Health & Safety Advisor to their Manchester team - £35,000 salary.

This fantastic, wide reaching organisation consists of social housing stock, residential new build, maintenance & repairs, and construction small works operations. Based out of modern offices in Manchester, they are looking for a competent, passionate Health & Safety Advisor to join their growing team and support the achievement of Health & Safety excellence across their varied operations.

To be successful in this role, you'll be a knowledgeable Health & Safety Advisor; someone who takes pride in knowing how to find specific detail about best practice and applying this in a pragmatic way to make sure projects - however big or small or technical - continue and are completed to time, to cost and with an excellent Health & Safety record.

The role will incorporate all aspects of Health & Safety, including audits, inspections, accident investigation, developing safe systems of work and best practice procedures, working with site teams, operational managers and senior managers to develop a positive Health & Safety culture. You'll be predominantly focused on maintenance and repairs in both lived in and vacant properties (houses and high-rise), meaning the role will be varied - no day is the same!

We are looking for someone to inject a fresh approach into Health & Safety in this organisation. Ideally, you will be at or working towards Grad IOSH level with a NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent), although relevant professional experience will be an excellent substitute for this. Given the focus of the role on repairs and maintenance, experience with this - including roofing & cladding, electrical & plumbing, or fit-out projects. Such a varied role will be challenging, but rewarding and this is a business that will recognise you for your achievements - so a long term career awaits the successful individual.

The salary is up to circa £35,000, with a market-leading package including flexible working arrangements. You will be joining a high functioning team, and working with an ambitious Head of Health & Safety who will support your own professional development.

In summary - an excellent career opportunity, and a role that will boost your experience and exposure in a diverse environment.
