Job Description

Our client are a £10m turnover regionally based contractor. In recent years they have grown significantly in terms of head count, client base and project values. Due to such growth they now have a requirement to appoint an Operations Manager.

The role will be - reporting to the Managing Director - to oversee existing projects and teams, reviewing and improving performance, liaising with and converting new clients, building relationships with sub-contractors, with a full overview of the Operational side of the business.

Main Responsibilities

* Lead and direct a team responsible for managing small new build and refurbishment schemes ensuring contractors deliver a high quality and delivering a value for money service.
* Ensuring that the contractors are compliant with the terms of their contracts, and works are delivered on time, within budget and meet agreed key performance indicator targets.
* Ensure the team effectively manages contractors through a comprehensive quality assurance system including contract administration and proactive budget monitoring.
* Focus on achievement of new business/clients in line with specific company growth strategy.

Requirements:

* Professional Degree level Qualification in relevant field e.g. Construction, Building, Surveying Asset Management or equivalent gained through experience
* Detailed knowledge of contract administration and demonstrable skills to undertake contract administration
* Significant experience and understanding of CDM regulations
* Knowledge of Local Authority Health and Safety in relation to maintenance of assets.
* Extensive experience in the financial management and control of multiple revenue and capital contracts.
* Ability to set performance measures and targets
* Extensive experience and ability to lead, motivate and manage staff
* Strong IT skills
* Ability to manage time and resources effectively in a fast paced environment to meet competing deadlines
* Ability to attend meetings outside of normal working hours, where required.
