Job Description

Our client are a leading carpentry joinery fit out contractor based in Stoke. They are looking to expand their current commercial team by recruiting an additional Quantity Surveyor either with a Joinery or Fit out bias.

They work with the country's leading principle contractors and have successfully delivered on some on the UK's most prominent projects with the residential and commercial sectors.

As a business, they have an exceptionally low turnover of staff and therefore they are looking for candidates with a stable employment record and a demonstrated track record of success.



The project co-ordinator works very closely with the senior contracts manager to ensure procurement and scheduling tasks are completed in line with prevailing construction programmes. Attending contracts meetings to report on progress against task lists and to identify and help to resolve issues, delays and blockers. Place non production purchase orders against budgets. Identify new suppliers and sub-contractors including pre-qualification. Produce operation and maintenance manuals.

Duties:

* An ongoing appreciation of programme material requirements on all projects
* Identify new and manage existing supplier relationships providing feedback in both directions
* Identify new and manage existing sub-contractor relationships providing feedback in both directions
* Maintain supplier and subcontractor databases
* Communicate "at risk" procurement items helping to prioritise workloads
* Oversee task management within Asana for Senior Contracts Manager communicating blockers within contracts meeting
* Clear, professional & appropriate communication inside and outside the organisation to resolve procurement issues.
* Prioritise the workload in scheduling against programme reflecting lead times
* Work with accounts to secure invoice clarity through PODs etc
* Assist with scheduling where required, e.g. skirtings, windowboards - simpler take offs
* Lessons learned project review
* Place purchase orders and manage procurement in line with prevailing agreed programme (Instagantt) reflecting lead times
* Ensure full scope of works is procured on all projects
* Ensure good quality enquiry information is provided to suppliers for quotation purposes
* Book transport and site deliveries as required
* Proactively manage procurement requirements for post completion and 12 month defects resolution
* Using standard format compile O&M using information provided by suppliers, including manufacturing division (treat as supplier)
* Help to identify variations from Order scope of works
* Place purchase orders at or below budget prices
* Prioritise the workload in scheduling. Scheduling is everything that doesn't go through Design.
* Provide commercial feedback on price rises.
* Contracts meetings
* Handovers
