Job Description
This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to progress their career with a highly reputable construction company, within a high standards and high rewards environment. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
* Prepare and/ or review tenders with estimators assisting with understanding the client's requirements and offering value engineering.
* Undertake costs analysis working with Company buyers.
* Advise on procurement/ cost control.
* Identify areas of commercial risk and identify solution/ response.
* Allocate work to sub-contractors including assistance with procurement when required.
* Value completed work and ensure timely payment.
* Provide early cost advice to client on variations.
* Knowledge of various construction contracts.
* Understand health and safety regulations.
* Build strong relationships with client staff and Company production staff.
* Understand construction issues, offer advice on drawings and works and ensure project has all
current drawings/ up to date information to work from.
Requirements:
* Groundworks/ Civil Engineering experience desireable
* Minimum HNC Level 4 Qualification or equivelant
* Relevant experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a construction environment
* Excellent computer skills, including Word and Excel
* Effective oral and written communication skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Demonstrate an extremely high level of confidentiality
* Excellent organisational skills
* Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
* Must be able to gather and analyse information skillfully
* Must be highly motivated and be willing to work hard
