Job Description

We are currently recruiting on behalf of an well established social housing association for a repairs manager

If you are an experienced repairs managers who is organised and has a passion for continuous improvement and high standards of customer service this maybe the job for you!

The successful applicant will be managing a team of multi skilled operatives to deliver high standards of day to day repairs and void management. Working closely with the Head of Repairs Performance in the operational delivery of an outstanding repairs service providing excellent customer service, ensuring high satisfaction levels for quality work completed to time, improving performance at all times.
In addition to the above, you will carry out and conduct ad hoc requests from customers and staff that include: Property inspections for unidentified repairs; Mutual exchanges liaising with housing management; complaints; Disrepair claims; Estate and scheme walkabout inspections; Rechargeable repairs.

Essential Skills / Experiences:

You must have:

* Previous management or supervisory experience in a repairs service,
Significant technical knowledge within repairs & voids in the social housing or similar sector
Proven leadership skills and can demonstrate ability in delivering effective management within the building / construction field
* Experience of supervising or managing maintenance work undertaken by contractors is necessary.
You will be apprentice trained or equivalent in a relevant trade or technical discipline with extensive experience of inspecting and reviewing works, within restricted budget, ensuring commercial viability, agreed standards are achieved within timescales.
City and Guilds Advanced Craft NVQ Level 3 or HNC in Building Surveying / Construction (or equivalent) is essential for the role accompanied with knowledge of legal requirements and good practice.

Desirable Skills / Experiences

* In addition to the above, if you hold a Management Qualification or educated to Degree Level or equivalent; have previous experience of partnership working, delivering Continuous Improvement and managing supply chains we would like to hear from you
